The Great Tanking Debate
One of the most significant changes to Wrath of the Lich King is that the tanks are now much more similar than they once were. In the original 1-60 content the only people who could really tank a raid were warriors. Then, Druids and Paladins were given some better stats. Now, Warriors, Druids, Paladins, and Death Knights have all been given builds that make them equally viable for tanking raid content.
First of all, each class build has been given a series of AoE aggroing skills that allows them to build up their threat levels over time while dealing damage to raid enemies making it possible for all four to hold multiple targets at once.
Second, players now no longer have to worry about Crushing Blows in a raid as they can only be dealt by enemies at least 4 levels higher than them – no raid enemies are higher than Level 83.
Finally, the stats for defense now have diminishing returns meaning that you cannot stack your Defense Rating, Dodge, and Parry to the stars and become better as a Warrior due to certain benefits in your talent build. They all become less valuable the higher you get.
Siege Combat
Siege Combat in WoW is entirely different than anything you’re used to in the game providing a completely new way to take on your opponents head on and destroy in-game items like never before. The Siege Vehicles, of which there are many, have been added to the game to provide a number of additional ways to engage, beyond your stats and attack modes. There are requirements for every siege vehicle you might want to acquire and operate and some have room for passengers and even possibly a turret that can be fired by those passengers. The six major forms of Siege Combat Vehicles include the following:
-
Catapult – The catapult is the weakest and most basic of the siege vehicles but is subsequently the fastest moving of them. It can carry one passenger and will fire large barrels of liquid that deal low amounts of siege damage.
-
Demolisher – The demolisher is the basic tank-like vehicle. It can carry multiple passengers and moves at a medium pace, dealing medium amounts of damage. If a player is in front of it, and you hit them, you will deal damage to them based on the demolisher’s bumper boost to damage.
-
Steam Tank – The third ground based siege vehicle is the heaviest and slowest and carries a number of passengers. The pilot controls the bumper and a second player can control a turret on top of the machine that shoots at other players.
-
Fighter – The Fighter is a fast moving flying machine that deals low damage and can carry one passenger. It works very well in the capacity of a scout.
-
Bomber – The Bomber is a slower, more damaging vehicle that can deal damage to buildings, vehicles and people below (think bombing runs in Hellfire).
-
Turrets – Located in defensive positions, turrets are controlled by one player who can then shoot at fairly long range at opponents. They are best suited for taking out siege vehicles of your enemies.
The Achievement System
Another major change to WoW with Wrath of the Lich King is the installation of an Achievement system, a popular tool that has been used in numerous other games and game consoles for the last three years or so. With the 3.0.2 patch, players could start accessing the Achievement panel to see what different things they had accomplished as they played. These achievements would then be tracked as they continue to play, allowing them to unlock various aspects of the game they either did not know about or ignored for too long.
The achievements are each awarded a point value between 5 and 25 and the totals are tallied up as you gain them to provide a total point value that other players can see – this doesn’t actually do anything in particular, but gives you yet one more way to show off to other players as you proceed through the game.
Additionally, some achievements, when unlocked will provide rewards that are almost entirely cosmetic but are incredibly rare and thus very popular. Here are a few of the most common and popular new achievements in the game by category.
Starting a Death Knight
With all the details out there about the Death Knight, most people just want to jump in and start playing the new class. For those players, we have compiled a walkthrough to get you through the starting areas of the Death Knight from level 55 to 58 in the Ebon Hold. The new types of quests, the new armor, the new play style – it’s all listed below for you.
The First Phase
You will start your new Death Knight Character by viewing a short video introduction the same as the racial ones you have viewed for all of your other new characters. It will give a little background of you and your fellow death knights – that you sacrificed your life to protect people against the scourge and that you were killed and taken by the Lich King to serve forever.
You will start your new character at the top of a high floating city known as Acherus: The Ebon Hold – floating above Light’s Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands You will be immediately encountered by the Lich King and two Val’kyr Battle Maidens and he will tell you that you are now part of the Scourge and that it will be your role to destroy the Scarlet Crusade and the Argent Dawn located below at Light’s Hope Chapel Your training will begin immediately and you must see to Instructor Razuvious on the second floor of Acherus.
The Death Knight leveling area has been built in a unique fashion. Each level of progress for the Death Knight has been instanced separately so as you are only with other Death Knights who are at the same point as you. This is likely to keep the problems that were faced with Hellfire Peninsula when Burning Crusade launched to a minimum so that players are not stuck fighting or waiting over quest objectives.
Another nice touch for this initial training zone is that you will be given the Undying Resolve buff – this will allow you to be resurrected immediately upon the spot every 10 minutes. If you can stay alive for more than 10 minutes at a time, you will never have to do a death run until you hit Level 58 and move on to the next area.

A little cautious approach when dealing with addons:
Whenever you are downloading addons from unknown websites, please be very careful by scanning the file once or even twice if necessary. On this website, we have great confidence with the website that we prefer to. However, remember to always scan before use.
With currently over 11.5 million subscribers worldwide, we highly bet that there will be a lot of scamming involved :). Just keep that mind.
Ah Hell! I, somehow, have spent almost all of my gold. Honestly, I don’t know why but I love to create the best, and the most powerful character in the game with the best enchants and actually pay people to join their raid groups. Ain’t that crazy but hell, it is only a game.
